"CloserQ, we are a smaller company and we would like to start offering Webinars, any advice?" - Joe Marketing

Joe, I am huge believer in webinars to generate leads for sales. My advice for your webinars is to put yourself in your prospects shoes, what does he or she want to see in a webinar versus what do you want to show them. Create value by educating them. My favorite webinar is one with users (your clients) of the product of solution.

My recommendations are:

  • Set Budget for Webinars
  • - You can do professional webinars
  • - You do your self with webex, gotomeeting, and others
  • What is the content
  • Registration Data
  • What is the agenda
  • - Including your 'call to action'
  • When is the webinar
  • What are your success metrics
  • - Number of Atttendees
  • - Number of Leads
  • - Number of Completed Surveys
  • - Track to closed deals
I am very pro webinars and they can be reused for future prospects and internal training.

Joe, Good webinaring and let us know how it goes!

Joe,

As someone who's conducted hundreds of webinars and thousands of teleseminars, I would consider doing teleseminars. Webinars offer little additional value and there's more that can go wrong in the middle of your presentation. I've had lots of techical problems with webinars, and almost none with teleseminars. If you're trying to impress your prospects with your techical prowess, do webinars. But if your goal is to sell, do teleseminars instead. I wish you the best of luck!
