Phil, first congratulations on hiring sales people and growing your business in this challenging economy. At a high-level, looks good and follows industry standards. Below are specific recommendations to enhance your job description:

· Compensation TBD: Is vague and you are going to get a wide range of candidates. Some companies purposely leave salary blank, however, I recommend you have a range when you talk to candidates to help you screen both over and under qualified candidates.
· Add Location: Eastern US, company head quarters, other
· Add Travel: With such a large territory, I assume there is travel. If yes, what are your expectations (25%, 50%, 75%, other). If no, state no travel.
· Beef Up ‘Primary Tasks and Responsibilities’:
o How is the territory generating leads (ex. cold calls) and what is the role of your sales person?
o You did a good job of what industry (medical). You may want to include who (CEO, CFO, CIO, Material Management, other) you are calling on.
o Does the position demo, create proposals, negotiate contracts, close deals, other?
o What does bullet #5 mean ‘Establish sales territory budgets’? Is this quota? Is this internal sales budgets? Is this pricing for your prospects budgets? I recommend your VP of Sales has the baseline of data vs. a new sales person

Lastly, for finding candidates you may want to look at
my post from July 2nd on recruiting.
