Book Review - Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

CloserQ Readers, I just finished reading (listening to on audible) Laura Hillenbrand's book, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption and it is fantastic.

'Unbroken' follows the life of Louis Zamperini from his struggle to find himself as a youth; to his high school and college track star days; to Olympic runner; then to his courageous military career, as a second lieutenant bomber during WWII, to being captured by the Japanese; to the stress of re-entering society after the military; to becoming a christian motivational speaker, and assisting young people that have lost there way.

Laura Hillenbrand does an inspiring job of articulating Louis' internal and external challenges during WWII from his multiple bombing missions, to the surviving the crash of his B24, to being stranded on a life raft in the pacific ocean, to being captured by Japanese Navy, to being tortured as a Pacific POW, to finding Jesus Christ in his post war life.

In today's society, with movie-star heroes and 24 hours political news cycles, Louie Zampaerini is a real American and inspirational hero.  I was moved so many times when experiencing the book, that I am simply recommend "Unbroken' to  my readers, who need an uplifting story on the human spirit, survival, and forgiveness.
