Rene, thanks for the follow up question to my post and answer last year on joining a start-up and the management’s exit strategy. A Life Style’s Company is where the company owner(s) or independent producer is more focused on maintaining their life style versus growing the business. Traditionally these owners or independent producers have put in the time to build their successful business and now are working minimal hours. These people spend more time with their family, playing golf, church, hobbies, exercising, etc, versus working. I know several people who have built life style companies.
This economy is affecting everyone including the Life Style Companies. I talked to one of my ‘Life Style’ friends recently and he mentioned his hours have gone from 5 hours a week to 30 because that is what it takes just to maintain in this economy.
